v1.0 — Public launch on the Shopify App Store

After several months of private beta with a handful of merchants, Kovyo is now public on the Shopify App Store. This is the v1.0 we wanted to ship — not a feature-flag-laden MVP, but a real product that does three jobs well and gets out of the way for everything else.

What’s in v1.0

  • Popups — exit-intent, scroll-trigger, and time-delay, with automatic Shopify discount-code creation on submit and a one-click drop into your welcome email flow.
  • Abandoned cart recovery — three-email sequence (1 hour, 24 hours, 72 hours), with personalized product blocks pulled from the cart webhook and an optional escalating discount.
  • Email automation — welcome, post-purchase, and win-back flows with sensible defaults you can edit but don’t have to. Klaviyo-style last-touch attribution baked in.
  • Broadcast campaigns — one-off newsletters from the same dashboard, with the same segmentation engine and the same revenue attribution.
  • Free perpetual plan — 500 emails per month, one popup, one automation. No credit card. No trial timer.

What we left out (intentionally)

  • SMS, push, postcards. We don’t think most small Shopify stores need them, and pretending otherwise inflates the price you’d pay for the email tool you actually want.
  • Predictive AI. Powerful for stores doing $5M+. Marginal at best for stores under $1M. Klaviyo wins this category; we’re not trying to.
  • A flow editor PhD. Every automation comes with a working preconfigured starting point. You can edit anything, but you don’t have to.

Pricing

We bill by emails sent, not contacts collected. A 5,000-contact list sending one newsletter per month costs $9 on Kovyo and $80 on Klaviyo — same activity, ~9× difference. The Klaviyo savings calculator walks the math at any scale.

What’s next

We’re heads-down on the next layer of the product:

  • Per-domain custom DKIM/SPF wizard (Sprint 6 of the product roadmap, not the marketing migration that just shipped).
  • A/B testing for subject lines on Growth and above.
  • Plain-text email mode for transactional-style campaigns.
  • Spanish-locale dashboard (the marketing site already speaks Português and Español; the app catches up next).
